Regression Therapists

The certified Regression Therapists of the Spiritual Regression Therapy Association use regression therapy to resolve unhelpful repetitive thoughts, emotions and unexplainable physical pain. Regression therapy goes to the source of the emotional wound that caused the problem which could be from a major life event including ones from childhood, prenatal and past lives. Once cleared complete transformation is very quick.

Overview of Regression Therapy

  • An interview to understand the problem and ensure the suitability of regression therapy

  • Being guided into an alternative state of awareness and fully exploring the memory at the source of the problem in a past life or the current life

  • The use of body therapy or inner child regression if needed for deep trauma

  • Spiritual insights and transpersonal healing techniques to transform the memory and clear the current life problem

  • Integration activities to incorporate the session into daily life

Sessions are normally two hours and cost between £150 to £200.

The Focus Areas for Regression Therapists

The wound of an unexpressed emotion can spill over in emotional outbursts or produce physical symptoms. Regression therapists can resolve a wide range of unwanted emotions including powerless, anger, anxiety, shame, depression, and guilt.

A range of medical issues have been effectively treated such as infertility, repeated loss of consciousness, asthma and autoimmune disorders. It can help with unexplainable physical symptoms that do not have a medical explanation such as phantom pains, headaches, tendencies for repeated infection, allergies, post-traumatic stress and other conditions.

The healing is frequently dramatic and often exceeds expectations. It is not uncommon to hear of clients feeling transformed in such a way that the measurable symptoms of their problem disappear completely in a few sessions.

When Regression Therapy is not Suitable

Those with a serious mental health issue such as psychosis, or those taking strong medication such as chemo-therapy for cancer. If the session is for children the regression therapist needs to have specialised regression techniques training.

Regression Therapists Associations

The biggest caution in finding a regression therapist is looking for one who is professionally trained to a high standard. Regression therapy, like many holistic treatments, is an unregulated market and people can take a home study course for a few hours and call themselves a therapist. It's like someone doing a home study course to become a surgeon. When you go for an operation, you expect the surgeon to have been trained to the highest standard and mentored by an expert until they are seen to have the skills needed.

And the same applies to regression therapy which is why associations such as the Spiritual Regression Therapy Association and the EARTh Association of Regression Therapy have the highest international professional standards so people can be safe using their regression therapists.

History of Regression Therapy

Sigmund Freud was the first to introduce the idea that trauma memories in the subconscious mind were affecting a person's current life. Carl Jung contributed to this with the use of guided imagery and transformation techniques.

In the 1980’s Roger Woolger introduced the importance of working with body memories to clear deep trauma. John Bradshaw author of Homecoming pioneered Inner Child Regression which has helped thousands of people to heal traumas from their childhood.

In 2002 Andy Tomlinson incorporated these pioneers' work in the Past Life Regression Academy regression therapy training and also added a spiritual perspective in the healing process. Regression therapists from this training are members of the Spiritual Regression Therapy Association.

Research with Regression Therapy

Andy Tomlinson led a team who analysed 636 regression therapy clients selected with a focus on unexplainable physical pain symptoms. On average after two regression therapy sessions there was a dramatic reduction or elimination of the symptoms.

Professor A.K. Groen of Amsterdam University Medical Centre investigated the effectiveness of regression therapy in treating a wide spectrum of emotional and medically unexplained symptoms. 169 subjects were used and the results showed a significant and substantial decrease. Notably, a single session proved satisfactory for many participants.

More evidence comes from research by the SRTA members.

Common Questions

Is there a Risk of False Memories?

Professionally trained regression therapists of the SRTA only ask open questions such as “What is happening?” or “Tell me more” or “Describe what you are experiencing?” This way emerging past life or current life memories can be explored without the risk of false memories.

Are Past Lives Real?

In hypnosis, time is transcended and there is no distinction between real and imagined, enabling empowerment and healing to take place. When past lives emerge often spontaneously, they are explored so the client can experience them in a personalized way without any judgment from the therapist.

Key Takeaways

Regression therapy involves past life, current life and inner child regression by going to the source of an issue, releasing trapped emotions and helping the client transform the memory.

Regression therapy resolves a wide range of intrusive thoughts, emotions, unexplainable pain and trauma in just a few sessions.

Transpersonal healing techniques add a spiritual dimension to the healing process.

Buddha said there are four steps to soul growth: understand you have a problem, know what caused it, let it go with a new understanding and integrate the changes into your life. And all these are done within a regression therapy session by professionally trained regression therapists.
